Attendees will review the purpose of the Level VIII Electronic Inspection, the potential lifecycle of the inspection, and whether any modifications need to be made. The group will analyze the current Level VIII Electronic Inspection definition and potential barriers and limitations of the definition. There will be discussion around whether this program will be voluntary or required for motor carriers and the benefits assumed by enforcement and industry.

The group will discuss what documents need to be generated to better define Level VIII Electronic Inspection data elements. We’ll discuss topics such as: Should there be a technical specification? Should there be an operational policy? What is the scalability of the program?
