FHWA Publishes Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure RFI
On Nov. 29, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) published a requested for information (RFI) on the creation of guidance for new programs to create an interconnected electric vehicle charging network. Comments are due by Jan. 28.

Update on Exemptions

FMCSA Requests Comments on Verizon Windshield Mounting Exemption Application
On Nov. 19, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published a notice and request for comments on an application from Verizon Connect Inc. for exemption from the windshield mounting requirements. Verizon requests that its Integrated Video Dashcam be permitted to be mounted lower in the windshield than is currently allowed. Comments are due by Dec. 20.

FMCSA Requests Comments on ODE ELDT Exemption Application
On Nov. 18, FMCSA published a notice and request for comments on an application from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) for an exemption from the entry level driver training (ELDT) requirements to allow ODE to continue using its “Pre-Service School Bus Training” curriculum. ODE believes that their classroom and behind the wheel training meet or exceeds the ELDT requirements. Comments are due by Dec. 20.
