CVSA Adds New Inspection Bulletin on Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Drag Link Assembly Welds

On Aug. 14, 2019, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Board of Directors voted on and approved a new Inspection Bulletin regarding Dodge Ram 2500/3500 drag link assembly welds.

The 2019-02 Inspection Bulletin provides guidance regarding inspection of the drag link assembly on certain Dodge Ram 2500/3500 pickup and cab chassis vehicles that are subject to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Safety Recall 19V-021. In accordance with the manufacturer’s approved recall remedy, these vehicles may have the outboard steering linkage jam nuts welded to the adjuster sleeve, which should not be cited as an out-of-service condition.

CVSA reminds all certified roadside inspectors to visit the Inspection Bulletins section of the CVSA website to check that they have the latest versions of all Inspection Bulletins. We want to ensure all inspectors are conducting roadside inspections using the most up-to-date version of each bulletin. The CVSA website will always contain the current version of each Inspection Bulletin which should be in use by CVSA-certified roadside enforcement personnel.
