The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) April 1, 2020, North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria (OOSC) is now available for purchase through the new CVSA OOSC app. The CVSA OOSC app contains the out-of-service criteria, inspection bulletins, pictorials, online training, inspection procedures, operational policies, inspection and educational videos, brochures and webinars.
To download the app, search for “CVSA” in the App Store or Google Play. Select “CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria.” Once you’ve downloaded the app, set up your account with your first and last name and email address. You’ll then have the option to purchase the 2019 and/or 2020 OOSC for $24.99 USD ($34.99 CAD, $479 MXN) each.
Moving forward, starting from 2019, all versions of the OOSC will be available in one convenient location via the CVSA OOSC app.
If you already have the April 1, 2019, OOSC: If you previously purchased the 2019 OOSC and lose access once you download the new CVSA OOSC app and would like it restored, contact CVSA Multimedia Specialist Mark Mills via email or at 301-960-1139.
The 2020 OOSC is also available in the following formats:

- Electronic PDF (three device and/or web browser limit; cannot be printed or copy-and-pasted; best viewed on a desktop computer)

- Bilingual English/Spanish U.S. version (8.5″ x 11″)
- French Canadian edition (8.5″ x 11″)
- Bilingual English/French Canadian version (8.5″ x 11″)
The 2020 out-of-service criteria went into effect on April 1, 2020. The 2020 version replaces and supersedes all previous versions. If you do not have the 2020 version, you will be operating using outdated information.
