Polly Trottenberg Confirmed as U.S. DOT Deputy Secretary

On April 13, 2021, the Senate voted to confirm Polly Trottenberg as the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). During her confirmation hearing with the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Deputy Secretary Trottenberg outlined a path forward for the agency to make large infrastructure investments. She also noted the importance of making smart investments in infrastructure that also aid in in the agency’s key mission of improving transportation safety.
