DOT Releases Reauthorization Proposal
On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) released their transportation billĀ proposal.
The GROW AMERICA Act, which stands for Generating Renewal, Opportunity, and Work with Accelerated Mobility, Efficiency, and Rebuilding of Infrastructure and Communities throughout America Act, is a four year, $302 billion bill. The proposal covers all U.S. transportation programs, including the motor carrier safety programs under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
CVSA is currently reviewing the proposal. Additional information will be sent out after we’ve had a chance to fully review the document. In the meantime, a section by section summary document produced by DOT can be found here. The Motor Carrier Safety summary begins on page 36.
