New Entrant Safety Audit

A new entrant safety audit is an examination of a new motor carrier’s operations and its compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and applicable Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). The audit provides educational and technical assistance to motor carriers on the safety and operational requirements of the FMCSRs and HMRs and gathers critical safety data needed to assess the carrier’s safety performance and basic safety management controls.

This training course will teach participants to deliver quality safety audits in accordance with the FMCSRs and HMRs while applying the standards of the Field Operations Training Manual. In addition, participants will learn to utilize software programs specific to the New Entrant Safety Audit Program.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be qualified to conduct new entrant safety audits.
