FMCSA Publishes General Technical Amendments Final Rule

The selected individual will fill a vacancy for a term that will begin immediately on appointment and expire on May 31, 2027. Nominations are due by Aug. 28.
FMCSA Requests Comments on Inspection, Repair and Maintenance ICR

FMCSA Denies Project GAP CDL and ELD Exemption Application
Le 17 juillet, la FMCSA annoncé its decision to deny the application from Diamond Excursions Ladies Edition, doing business as Project GAP, for exemptions from the commercial driver’s license (CDL) and electronic logging device (ELD) regulations.
FMCSA Requests Comments on CCS HOS Exemption Application
Le 17 juillet, la FMCSA demandé comments on CCS Transportation Inc.’s (CCS) application for an exemption from certain provisions in the hours-of-service (HOS) regulations, specifically an exemption to permit short-distance CMV movements to be logged as on-duty (not driving) yard moves on its drivers’ ELDs during brief travel on local public roadways separating two CCS facilities. Comments are due by Aug. 17.
FMCSA Requests Comments on Huntsman CMV Marking Requirements and HOS Exemption Application
Le 17 juillet, la FMCSA demandé comments on an application from Colorado Huntsman Transport Inc., doing business as Huntsman Transport (Huntsman), for reconsideration of FMCSA’s denial of its original request on Feb. 6. Huntsman seeks exemptions from the CMV marking requirements and HOS prohibition against driving a CMV after accumulating 60 hours of on-duty time within seven consecutive days. Comments are due by Aug. 17.

Participate in CVSA’s Cargo Theft and Chameleon Carriers Survey
On July 8, CVSA launched an anonymous survey on cargo theft, cargo fraud and reincarnated/chameleon carriers. As cases of these complex problems become more prevalent in the CMV industry, CVSA is working to form the Alliance’s policy positions and identify solutions to these issues. Input from government members et membres associés is essential in shaping the Alliance’s recommendations and strategies. Please complete the survey by July 31.
