Industry Roadside Inspection Vehicle Requirements Course

Course and General Information

Target Audience

  • The target audience is motor carrier safety directors, owner-operators, commercial motor vehicle drivers, technicians, fleet managers, vendors, etc.
  • Class size is limited to 35 students. This allows more one-on-one attention from the instructors, students will get to know each other better, and the instructors can tailor instruction more individually.

Course Schedule

  • Monday (June 13) through Thursday (June 16), the course schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • On the last day, Friday, June 17, the schedule is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Travel prior to that time on Friday will interfere with the completion of the course.

Requirements

To attend this course, all registrants must sign the CVSA Waiver and Release of Liability for Communicable Disease.

Expenses

  • Included: All training materials will be provided, including safety regulations, the 2022 CVSA North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria Handbook and Pictorial, highlighters and pens. Students will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion.
  • Not included: Attendees are responsible for airfare, transportation, meals, hotel accommodations and any other travel expenses.

The training facility is being sponsored and supplied by Wharton County Junior College and the Bay City Police Department.

Parking

Parking spaces at the training location are free and clearly marked, located in the front (east side) of the building.

Dress Code

Appropriate dress for the training course is business casual. Any safety equipment (safety glasses, bump caps, gloves, safety boots, etc.) required by your company to be in and around tractor trailers needs to be brought with the attendee.

Weather

Daily high temperatures in Bay City in June range in the 90s for the high, with daily lows averaging around 75 degrees.

The health and safety of attendees at this training course are top priority. CVSA will follow federal and local guidelines, restrictions and requirements, and health and facility protocols, as appropriate, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.

Waiver and Release of Liability for Communicable Disease

Every individual registered for this course must sign the CVSA Waiver and Release of Liability for Communicable Disease to attend this course. This is a requirement. Individuals who do not sign the waiver will not be permitted to attend this course.

Consent to Multimedia Use

Registration and attendance at and participation in CVSA meetings and other activities – in-person or virtually – constitutes an agreement by the registrant to CVSA’s use and distribution of the registrant’s or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities.
