CVSA will hold its first Hazardous Materials Instructor Training (HMIT) Course Tuesday through Thursday the week of May 11-13 and May 18-20. The course will be offered virtually from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time each day. Altogether, this is a 40-hour course.
HMIT is a Train the Trainer course that facilitates the training of hazardous materials (hazmat) instructors who conduct training in Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) for hazmat employees.
The HMIT course will give hazmat instructors the tools they need to confidently train hazmat employees on the requirements in Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subpart H. The course will include instruction, presentations, work projects, breakout sessions, team exercises and presentations, individual assignments and coursework, and a pre-test and post-test.
The deadline for registration is Monday, May 3.
This training course was made possible by a Hazardous Materials Instructor Training grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
