CVSA will hold its Hazardous Materials Instructor Training (HMIT) Virtual Course on Feb. 15-17 and Feb. 22-24. Note: These dates are all for one course. It’s offered three days of one week, three days the next.
HMIT is a Train the Trainer course that facilitates the training of hazardous materials (hazmat) instructors who conduct training on Hazardous Materials Regulations for hazmat employees.
The HMIT course will give hazmat instructors the tools they need to confidently train hazmat employees on the requirements in Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subpart H in Part 172. The course will include instruction, presentations, work projects, breakout sessions, team exercises and presentations, individual assignments and coursework, and a pre-test and post-test. This course WILL NOT cover 49 CFR Part 172 in detail. Prior to attending this training, you should already have a working knowledge of the hazardous materials table, shipping papers, marking, labeling and placarding.
The deadline for registration is Friday, Feb. 4.
This training course was made possible by a Hazardous Materials Instructor Training grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
NOTE: If you are unable to attend this training course but are interested in this and/or other industry training courses we have planned for the future, fill out our online training interest form. You will be notified via email once the course in which you expressed interest is scheduled and registration is open.
