CVSA recognizes how important your time is. As a commercial vehicle roadside inspector, you require the right tools and resources to get your job done. At CVSA, uniformity is key to everything that we do. We work to ensure that you have the tools, information and support to do your jobs properly and in a uniform manner — whether it's a full Level I or HazMat Inspection. To do this, we have people who have experience working on the state and federal levels, who know and keep up with the issues. We represent you — in front of Congress on your behalf. We are actively involved with any issue or group that impacts commercial vehicle safety.
As a member you will have the opportunity to sit at the table with members of the federal government, state and enforcement agencies across North America as well as with industry representatives. CVSA member jurisdictions are represented by various Departments of Transportation, Public Utility and Service Commissions, State Police, Highway Patrols and Ministries of Transport. In addition, CVSA has several hundred associate members who are committed to helping the Alliance achieve its goals; uniformity, compatibility and reciprocity of commercial vehicle inspections, and enforcement activities throughout North America by individuals dedicated to highway safety and security.
As a CVSA Associate member, we provide you with everything from assisting your company with complaints with a jurisdiction and resolving them through a formalized resolution process to providing services such as a step-by-step guide to how we actually conduct roadside inspections, to advice on how you can comply with state and federal regulations. In addition, we offer a host of programs and publications including the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria, CVSA's informative quarterly magazine, Guardian, as well as our podcasts, In the Safety Lane with CVSA, updates on breaking news, a website and more.
CVSA provides members with the opportunity to: learn from others; have input through our many committees; hear what is working in other states and how to apply it in your own jurisdiction.
CVSA has a unique partnership with the federal government - one that affects industry in a very positive way because it creates a forum for CVSA committees and industry to come in and voice thoughts and suggestions, as well as raise concerns about programs being implemented. An individual can set agenda items at the federal government by working through the various CVSA committees.
