Update on Relevant U.S. Regulations
On May 28, 2015, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued a notice and request for comment on the agency's intent to extend its current information collection request (ICR) on the paperwork burden imposed by its regulations pertaining to the training of certain entry-level drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs).
On Saturday, May 23, 2015, Congress passed legislation extending the current transportation authorization for two months, through the end of July. The Senate passed the measure a few days after the House approved it, prior to leaving town for the Memorial Day recess. The President is expected to sign the measure prior to the May 31 deadline.
